How do I use Three-Way Calling?

Three-Way Calling lets you talk on the telephone with two other people in different locations at the same time. It doesn't matter if the connecting phone numbers are local or long distance calls.

How To Use Three-Way Calling:

  1. Enter the phone number of the first party you wish to connect to (see notes).
  2. Place the first party on hold by pressing and releasing the receiver button quickly*.
  3. Listen for confirmation beeps followed by dial tone, do not hang up.
  4. Enter the phone number of the second party you wish to connect to. Your conversation with the second party will be completely private until you connect the two calls**.
  5. Connect the two calls by pressing and releasing the receiver button quickly. Now all three parties will be on the line (you are considered the third party!).

*A "link" or "flash" key on your telephone may be used instead.
**If the second party's line is busy or there is no answer, you can return to the first party by pressing and releasing the receiver button quickly.

Notes:

  1. Three-Way Calling can be used whether you have placed or received the first call. If you have received the first call, skip Step 1.
  2. When entering the phone numbers that you wish to connect to, Speed Calling codes may be used if you subscribe to the Speed Calling feature.
  3. You may disconnect only the second party by pressing and releasing the receiver button quickly*.
  4. If either of the two parties hangs up, you can continue to talk to the remaining party.
  5. If either of the two parties hangs up, you can add another party by repeating Steps 2-5.
  6. You may disconnect both calls by hanging up.
  7. You cannot conduct a Three-Way Call using a phone number that requires operator assistance to enter.

*A "link" or "flash" key on your telephone may be used instead.
